The heavy lift vessel Green Jade has been commissioned by the joint venture between CSBC and DEME “CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering” this morning bringing new capacity to the Taiwanese offshore wind market
Green Jade is the latest newbuild vessel to be delivered to the offshore wind market where it will contribute to boosting the capacity for foundation installation in Taiwan. The vessels will be operated by CDWE, which is a joint venture between CSBC and DEME. The vessel is similar to DEME’s heavy lift vessel Orion, but unlike Orion, Green Jade is not equipped with a motion compensation gripper as the vessel will focus on jacket installation. The vessel is highly capable for foundation installation as it has mounted a 4000 tones crane from Huisman, accommodate large deck space, as well other features. So far, the vessel has contracts for ZhongNeng and Hai Long, and it is expected that the vessel will soon be seen on ZhongNeng, where the jack up vessel Apollo has been for some time installing pin piles.
