Shanghai Electric is expanding its horizons by entering the South Korean market by signing a turbine contract with Corio Generation and Hyosung Heavy Industries.
Chinese sources state that Shanghai Electric has signed a turbine contract with Hyosung Heavy Industries and Corio Generation for the South Korean project Dadaepo. Regardless of the small size of the contract with only 12 turbines it is a big step for Shanghai Electric expanding its footprint outside China for offshore wind turbines. The turbine model for the project is the SEW8.5-230, which has a capacity of 8.5MW. The South Korean offshore wind market is waking up as more projects are getting awarded contracts.
