The German authorities has today announced the winners of four new offshore wind sites, in one of the largest auction rounds of the year.

The German Federal Network Agency has announced the results of the auction round for non- centrally pre- examined sites, offering a total of 7000 MW of capacity to developers. The round was the first time the dynamic bidding process was used, where developers compete on willingness to pay, if multiple zero cent per kilowatt hour bids are placed on an area. The round achieved a total of 12.6 billion euro. The winners of the round area:

  • N-11.1 ( 2000 MW): bp, bid EUR 3.66 billion
  • N-12.1 (2000 MW): Totalenergies, bid EUR 3.75 billion
  • N-12.2 (2000 MW): bp, bid EUR 3.12 billion
  • O-2.2 (1000 MW): Totalenergies, bid EUR 2.07 billion

 

All the sites have an expected COD by end of 2030 and will contribute to Germany’s offshore wind target of 30 GW within 2030.
