Van Oord has been awarded the foundation installation work for the Polish offshore wind project Baltica 2, developed by Ørsted and PGE.
When it comes to installing foundations in the Baltic Sea, Van Oord reigns supreme. The company possesses an asset perfectly suited for the region and its conditions: the “Svanen.” Svanen has already installed a significant portion of all foundations in the region and is poised to install many more. Baltica 2 will not be Svanen’s first Polish project, as the vessel already has a foundation contract for Baltic Power, which will be completed before Baltica 2. The press release mentions that the jack-up vessel Aeolus is also expected to participate in this project, marking another collaboration between these two vessels.
