Toda Construction together with five other companies have acquired the jack-up vessel Teras Sunrise with the intention of modifying the vessel to be more suitable for offshore wind installation.

The jack-up vessel purchased by the Joint Venture was originally built for the oil and gas industry back in 2014 as a lift boat, equipped with two 750mt Huisman offshore mast cranes. The vessel has a high deck load capacity and suitable deck space, making it adequate for offshore wind installation. Considering it will work in Japanese waters, depth is a factor, with the vessel having a leg length estimated to be over 130 meters. The vessel is estimated to be finished with its modifications in March 2025 and ready for operations in September 2025. When ready, the vessel is expected to work in both fixed and floating projects.
