SK oceanplant has signed a memorandum of understanding with Corio Generation that potentially gives SK oceanplant access to 6.8 GW worth of projects spread over six countries.

The deal would cover six projects in the UK, Australia, Taiwan and South Korea. This deal represents a turning point in procurement process as SK oceanplant will be a major supplier to Corio for floating and fixed foundations and substations. SK oceanplant already has a strong track record supplying projects in Taiwan and South Korea, but this cooperation will expand SK oceanplant’s pipeline significantly. It is no coincidence that in the light of this news SK oceanplant confirmed it will build new facilities for offshore wind to accommodate the high volume of work that is about to come. Its new production plant will be located in Goseong, South Gyeongsang and will have an annual production capacity of about 650,000 tonnes.
