In fear of missing 2030 target, the Danish Government is calling for a discussion on the timeline of tenders
The Danish Government is considering putting the 9 GW state-run offshore wind tenders on a fast track, in the hopes of reaching the 2030 target. Currently, the Danes are aiming for 12.9 GW of capacity within the end of the decade, with tenders planned for 2024 through 2027. The Danish Government is now calling for political negotiations on order to speed up the process. The news comes after the Danes put the Open-Door Track on hold, citing possible conflicts with EU law. The 9 GW planned by the state include the Bornholm Energy Island, Hesselø and a further 5 GW, alle planned to have a COD by 2030.
