Seaway Ventus and Bokalift 2 are moving to their respective locations to begin foundation installation. Seaway Ventus will kick off East Anglia Three in the UK, while Bokalift 2 is likely to wrap up Revolution Wind and begin work on Sunrise Wind.
East Anglia Three is about to begin foundation installation, and the chosen vessel for this work scope is the jack-up vessel Seaway Ventus. Seaway Ventus is relatively new to the installation fleet, having been delivered in late 2023. Since then, it has worked in both the maintenance and installation segments. East Anglia Three will be the vessel’s first foundation installation task.
The vessel has been preparing since November last year to rig up equipment from Huisman required for the project. That process was recently completed, and the vessel is now heading to Vlissingen, where the monopiles and transition pieces are located.
Bokalift 2 is heading back to the US for further foundation installation work. It is expected to complete the final monopiles for Revolution Wind before beginning on Sunrise Wind. An estimated nine monopiles remain to be installed at Revolution Wind, which are likely to be completed quickly.
