Foundation installation on Ørsted’s Greater Changhua project in Taiwan is set to commence, with Heerema Marine Contractors' heavy lift vessel Aegir preparing for the first load-out.

Greater Changhua 2B – SW & 4 – NW is the second phase of Ørsted’s Greater Changhua project in Taiwan. This phase is now ready for offshore installation, with the heavy lift vessel Aegir stationed at Taichung Port, Taiwan. The vessel will install jacket foundations with suction buckets—pin piles will not be used this time. Greater Changhua 2B – SW & 4 – NW will have an estimated capacity of 920 MW, generated by 66 SG-14.0-236 turbines from Siemens Gamesa. As foundation installation progresses, the newly delivered jack-up vessel Wind Maker will join the offshore construction to install the turbines for the project.
