EDF Renewables has acquired 100% of Shell Overseas Holdings Ltd.’s shares in West Sea Energy 1, marking EDF’s entry into the development of a large-scale offshore wind project in South Korea.
The project has a potential capacity of up to 1.5 GW and is located in Yeonggwang, on the southwest coast of the Korean peninsula. The next step for EDF and the project is to obtain an Electricity Business License (EBL) by 2025.
