The Spanish company Haizea Wind has won a contract to supply 50 monopiles for the East Anglia Three offshore wind project in the UK.
This is a new direction for the company and a positive direction for the supply chain. Haizea Wind is known for tower manufacturing and has been expanding into monopile and transition piece fabrication as they have won large contracts for projects like Hornsea 3 and now East Anglia Three. Haizea Wind will expand its facilities to meet the demand.
Haizea Wind and several other Spanish companies represent a robust offshore wind supply chain out of Spain with the likes of jackets, monopiles, transition pieces, towers and blades. In the future the market can expect much more contracts be awarded to Spanish companies.
