Seaway7 has signed a contract with Hai Long Offshore Wind Power for the installation of inner-array grid and export cables on the Hai Long project off Taiwan.
The signing ceremony was held on 21 February and follows the contractual signing, which was announced to the market on 14 February. The work scope includes the transport and installation of inner-array cables, the respective cable protection systems, and four export cables. The export cables will connect the offshore substation to the onshore substation using horizonal directional drilling (HDD).
Cable installation will be undertaken by Maersk Connector, which in on long-term charter to Seaway7. HDD will begin this year. The full offshore cable campaigns will begin next year and run into 2025.
The project remains subject to reaching a final investment decision.
