Sif has finally confirmed its long anticipated expansion plans for its monopile facility.
This is expected to be an expansion of its existing Maasvlakte plant in the Netherlands and will be fully operational by H1 2025. This will increase the total combined capacity of Sif to 500kt a year and upgrade Sif’s capabilities to manufacture the equivalent of 200 XXXL, 11 meter diameter, 2,500 tons reference monopile foundations a year.
Some EUR 50 million of the total investment of EUR 328 million will be provided by Equinor. Two customers were also confirmed for early capacity commitments, one being for Shell and Eneco and assumed to be for the Hollandse Kust West VI project. This volume is either booked or in exclusive negotiations.
