The Portuguese Government has announced a public hearing on proposed development zones for offshore wind this week, in preparation for an auction round scheduled for Q4 2023. Government officials indicated last year an offshore wind target of 10 GW within 2030, setting high expectations for available capacities on offer for the upcoming auction round. The news also comes the same week as Spain aims to release its‘Â maritime management plans (POEM), indicating that 2023 may be the breakthrough year for offshore wind on the Iberian Peninsula.
