With high ambitions for offshore wind build out, India launches second offshore wind round of the year.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has on behalf of the Ministry if New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) launched a tender round for a 500 MW fixed offshore wind project off the coast of Gujarat. The round is the second allocation round hosted in India to date, with the first being lunched earlier this year for sites south in the country, off the coast of Tamil Nadu.
The Gujarat project will be viable for Viable Gap Fund VGF support, where the winning developer is granted payments based on certain milestones in the project development. The winning developer will also sign a PPA with SECI, signing a 25-year offtake deal for the power produced by the project.
Developers will have until December 10, 2024, to submit bids
