The US Gulf of Mexico working jackup count has risen to six this month, after holding steady at five since mid-2022.
The addition to the working count is WFD Rig 400, which has started a 100-day assignment with Apache. The campaign covers P&A work on 14 wells across three locations. This is WFD Rig 400’s first job after completing reactivation. It is owned by White Fleet Drilling and managed by Enterprise Offshore.
Meanwhile, the other five jackups working in the region continue to find new backlog. Enterprise 205 is working for Cantium and is committed until late 2024. Enterprise 264 should finish with EC Offshore Properties in late May. It will then undertake its next job with Gulf Offshore, followed by work with Byron Energy that should keep this rig busy into late 2023.
Valaris 144 is working for Cantium and has an additional job lined up with Talos Energy that will keep it working into October 2023. WFD Rig 250 continues to work for Arena Offshore, which is affiliated with the rig’s owner. And finally, Enterprise 351 is due to finish its current programme with Arena Offshore at the end of June. Market sources indicate Enterprise is close to signing a follow-on contract that will begin in direct continuation with the current contract.
