The French government has announced the winner of the largest offshore wind project to date, offering 1 GW capacity
The French Government has announced the winner of the AO4 Central Manche 1, awarding the 1 GW project to EDF Renewables, CPP Investments and Enbridge. When realized, the bottom fixed project will be the largest in France. The COD is currently estimated to be 2031. The victory brings the partnership between EDF, CPP and Enbridge up to a total of 2.45 GW either awarded, under installation or operational capacity in France, split between 5 different projects. Other bidders in the AO4 round included Shell, TotalEnergies, RWE and Vattenfall.
