Equinor and Polenergia takes the Final investment decisions (FID) for Polish Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III, marking another milestone for the growing offshore wind sector in Poland.

The polish offshore wind market has had a good 2025 so far, after installation activity begun for Baltic Power (1140 MW) and FID taken for Baltica 2 (1498 MW), construction will start later this year. Now, Equinor and Polenergia has taken the final investment decisions (FID) for Polish Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III, with a combined capacity of 1400 MW. The projects are expected to have 100 ( 2×50) SG-14.0-236 Siemens Gamesa turbines combined, while monopiles will be supplied by Sif.

Installation is expected to start in the first half of 2026, with Heerema Marine Contractors on monopile installation. Cadeler is expected to have the contract for turbine installation, to start by the end of 2026 or start 2027. Both projects have a COD set for the end of 2028.

The partnership Equinor and Polenergia also have an additional project in the pipeline in Poland, the 1560 MW Bałtyk I project. The expected COD for Bałtyk I is currently set to end 2029/2030.
