France has concluded the AO6 round, awarding two 250 MW floating sites off the south coast
The AO6 round has concluded in France, awarding two floating 250 MW project areas to developers. The results mark a new milestone, as the first commercial scale floating project areas awarded in the Mediterranean Sea through a lease round. The winners of the rounds are:
Project 1 ( Narbonaise 1 ): Ocean Winds and Elion en Mer Participation, 250 MW, expected COD 2031
Project 2 ( Golfe de Fos 1 ): EDF Renewables and Maple Power, 250 MW, expected COD 2031
Additional floating capacity has been put up for tender in the AO9 round in the Mediterranean, expanding the now awarded AO6 sites with an additional potential of 500 MW. AO9 is expected to be awarded in 2025/2026.
