Among challenging market conditions, 700 MW to be put on offer.

Not backing down from pursuing new offshore wind projects, Lithuanian authorities have proposed a new date for the second offshore wind auction, aiming to award a 700 MW project in the Baltic Sea. The initial allocation process was put on hold in April earlier this year, due to not reaching the number of qualified bidders to proceed.

Several developers had stated interest in the round, including Orlen, Vårgrønn/European Energy and Polenergia. Although initial interest, they all opted to withdraw from the round, and only Ignitis was listed as qualified to bid. As a result, the round was put on hold, as a minimum of two qualified bidders were required.

The new round is expected to be announced on November 18 later this year, with quailed bidders to be published on April 15, 2025, and the preliminary results on April 15, 2025.
