Seeking to develop the countries first offshore wind projects, India launches allocation round for Tamil Nadu sites
Indian authorities have published guidelines and a timeline for the countries first offshore wind allocation round, seeking to award 4000 MW of capacity. Located off the coast of Tamil Nadu, four sites for fixed projects are on offer to developers. Each block has an estimated capacity of 1000 MW, located 12 km off the coast.
Winners of the round will be awarded the right to conduct site surveys and apply for construction and operation permits. Deadline for bids is May 02. 2024.
