Despite operational challenges in early 2024, caused by the worst drought in the canal’s history, the Panama Canal has demonstrated remarkable resilience. In 2024, the canal recorded 806 RoRo vessel transits, marking a 4.3% increase from the previous year, which saw 773 transits.
Key Highlights:
- Wallenius Wilhelmsen led the field with 273 transits, accounting for 34% of the total RoRo traffic.
- NYK was the next most active with 194 transits.
